CIP stands for "Commercial Important Persons," meaning important commercial figures. In the world of travel services, this term refers to an area in airports where passengers can benefit from special services. These services are designed for the comfort of travelers and can be selected based on the applicant's needs.
Who Can Use CIP Services?
Contrary to the literal meaning of the term, these services are not exclusively offered to important commercial individuals such as managers or representatives of companies and organizations; anyone can purchase these services. In fact, travelers seeking a stress-free and worry-free journey who wish to receive luxurious services can opt to purchase CIP services. The services provided at the dedicated VIP lounges in airports can be an excellent option for individuals with specific physical disabilities or pregnant women who are permitted to fly. Passengers arriving or departing on domestic and international flights, as well as those greeting or accompanying them, can easily utilize all the facilities provided at the CIP lounges in airports.
Which Airports Offer CIP Services?
Not all airports in the country are equipped with these VIP lounges; the list of airports offering CIP services is as follows:
- Imam Khomeini International Airport (RA);
- Mehrabad Airport;
- Mashhad Shahid Hasheminejad Airport;
- Kish International Airport;
- Ahvaz International Airport;
- Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport;
- Tabriz International Airport;
- Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport;
- Kermanshah Shahid Ashrafi Esfahani Airport;
- Rasht Sardar Jangal Airport.
In addition to domestic airports, it is also possible to book Marhaba Service at Dubai Airport and VIP services at Istanbul Airport.

What Does CIP Service Include?
CIP lounges generally feature dedicated spaces for relaxation and hospitality for passengers and their companions. While you rest in these lounges, the following services are provided:
- Issuance of boarding passes and the option to select your preferred seat;
- Handling passport procedures and payment of departure fees for international flights;
- Delivery and retrieval of passengers’ luggage and cargo;
- Customs procedures for passengers on international flights;
- Dedicated police and IRGC security checkpoints;
- Handling excess baggage matters;
- Services related to the transport and clearance of pets;
- Access to airport transfer services;
- Access to welfare and accommodation facilities such as suites and exclusive hotel rooms, etc.;
- Dedicated transportation directly to the aircraft door on the tarmac.
These services and other available amenities vary depending on the conditions of each airport. One of the most comprehensive CIP services in Iran is offered at Imam Khomeini Airport, which provides these services at the highest standards. The CIP lounges at Mehrabad and Mashhad airports are also among the oldest VIP lounges in Iran.
In addition, services such as booking conference rooms, dedicated parking, shopping at luxury stores, and the use of XBOX for children during waiting hours are other amenities available at the CIP lounge of Imam Khomeini Airport.
Terms and Conditions for CIP Reservation
These conditions vary depending on whether the flight is domestic or international, the airline, flight class, and the facilities of the departure and arrival airports. Some of the current terms applicable at Imam Khomeini Airport are as follows:
- Passenger passport number or national ID is mandatory;
- Wheelchair reservations are not available for passengers arriving on Emirates flights;
- Wheelchair reservations are not available for outbound Iran Air Tour flights to Denizli;
- Passengers on outbound Mahan Air flights under 65 years old must pay a fee to use wheelchair services;
- For outbound flights, if a pet is checked as cargo, a fee will apply;
- Emirates business class passengers (except class H) on outbound flights are entitled to CIP services without the need for reservation or payment;
- Qatar Airways business class passengers (except class P) on outbound flights are entitled to CIP services without the need for reservation or payment;
- Iran Air business class passengers on outbound flights are entitled to CIP services without the need for reservation or payment;
- Turkish Airlines business class passengers (except for 4-digit flight numbers) on outbound flights are entitled to CIP services without the need for reservation or payment;
- Flydubai business class passengers on outbound flights are entitled to CIP services if the airline provides the passenger list, with no need for reservation or payment;
- Oman Air business class passengers on inbound and outbound flights are entitled to CIP services if the airline provides the list, with no need for reservation or payment;
- Passengers on outbound flights must obtain and carry an English-language printout of their vaccination card from the Ministry of Health website before arriving at the CIP lounge;
- Cancellation Policy: For outbound requests, cancellations are possible up to 8 hours before the flight; less than 8 hours prior, cancellation is not permitted, and the paid amount will not be refunded. For inbound flights, cancellations are possible up to 3 hours before the passenger’s arrival.
